Ahmadinejad Receives Leader Of Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council

Tehran, July 11, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council Leader Ammar Hakim here on Tuesday. According to the Presidential Office website, in the meeting, President Ahmadinejad said that enemies of humanity are following long-term goals in the region of Middle East and are trying to change situation in their own favor. He said that the goal of the hegemonic powers in the region is to save the Zionist regime. Ahmadinejad went on to say that regional developments should be considered with an international view, adding that in current situation, when hegemonic powers are in decline and are trying to ruin obstacles in the way of their dominance on the world, independent and justice seeking countries should not allow this to happen. Governments and nations of the region should be aware of the situation and use all their efforts and abilities to reach independence, freedom, justice and honor. He said that enemies have done everything to prevent Iranians' progress and stressed that Iran is a big country with many possibilities and talents that nobody can stop this nation. Leader of Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council, for his part, praised Iran’s decision in holding meeting of women and Islamic awakening and by presenting a report on Iraq development and problems, called Iran a country with constructive and effective role in preventing emergence of crises and different problems in the region. He also stressed that Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council has done a very good action in creating a growing trend in the country in the past two years./end
