Iran-Qatar Discuss Customs Co-op

Abu Dhabi, Jan 30, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar Abdollah Sohrabi discussed customs cooperation with the country’s Head of Customs House Ahmed Ali al-Mahandi on Sunday. He also described the law to avoid double taxation inked earlier by the two countries as an opportunity for development of customs cooperation between Iran and Qatar. Al-Mahandi, for his part, voiced his country’s readiness to dispatch expert delegations to implement cooperation agreements signed by the two states. Grounds are prepared for Iranians to make investment in Qatar, he said, noting that Iranian goods are of high quality. Sohrabi said that regional countries should have plans for non-oil economies in the long run and said that Iran has made great successes in this respect after the victory of the Islamic Revolution 1979. Iranian companies attended the ten-day Doha Goods Exhibition held earlier in January./end
