Talks With G5+1 On Iran N-program, On Agenda: Mehmanparast

Tehran, Feb 22, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday that Iran’s nuclear program is among the issues to be discussed during upcoming talks with the 5+1. Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Mehmanparast said the two sides will also negotiate about a number of other issues including the return of some residents of the Camp Ashraf to Iran. Stressing Iran’s readiness to hold negotiations with the 5+1 member states (the US, France, Russia, China, Britain and Germany), Mehmanparast said the two sides should set and finalize a framework for talks. We should wait for the outcomes of the visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to Iran, said the spokesman adding that their report may affect the dialogue. Mehmanparast stressed the need to adopt a constructive approach to hold Tehran’s talks with the 5+1. The two sides should reach agreements on the time and place of the talks and consider details of the meetings, noted Mehmanparast. About the western media’s reaction to Tehran's talks with the 5+1, the spokesman said that as usual they try to manipulate the issue to their own benefits./end
