Larijani: Syrian Crisis To Be Settled Through Talks

Tehran, May 26, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that Iran believed from the very beginning of the critical situation in Syria that the crisis in the country could be settled only through negotiations. Addressing the Parliament’s Sunday morning open session, he said fanning the flames of war and dispatching of arms to Syria would in no way help improve conditions in the country. He made the remarks in response to the recent allegations made by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu against Iran and Hizbullah. Larijani said Davutoglu’s remarks were untrue. Turkey made itself involved in Syria based on wrong assessments of situation there so it should not try to blame Iran and Hizbullah if sees it has now to pay dearly for its faulty policies, the speaker noted./end
